Curatorial Expertise
Our award-winning exhibitions are personally supported by Curatorial Exhibitions staff and industry-leading external curators, who represent an exciting mix of cultures, backgrounds and geography.
By drawing the content for our exhibitions from artist collaborations, from collections that are part of the Curatorial family such as the Solander Collection, the E.O. Hoppe Estate Collection and Hans Burkhardt Estate, and from a wide variety of museum and collection holdings from around the globe, we produce original shows as well as attract top curators working in visual arts.
In recent years we presented such critically acclaimed exhibitions as ‘Free as They Want to Be’ exploring African-American experience, ‘Alternative History of Photography’ that engages with themes of colonialism, gender, class, privilege, racial and ethnic identity, and ‘Under a Southern Star: Identity and Environment in Australian Photography’, that confronts antiquated ideas of Australian identity, and historical omissions.
