About Curatorial Exhibitions
-
Curatorial Assistance Traveling Exhibitions (CATE) is a nonprofit organization that expands public opportunities to view and experience significant and overlooked works of art.
Curatorial Exhibitions provides art and natural science museums, university galleries and arts organizations with exhibitions that are fully prepared and ready to install at a fraction of the cost such exhibitions would take for the venue to develop and create by itself, thus enabling venues to greatly enhance their exhibition programming.
Curatorial Exhibitions serves as a creative catalyst and facilitator for the production of extraordinary content in art and culture, history, science and other fields. Core to Curatorial Exhibitions’ mission is a commitment to constructive social engagement and international exchange. Through partnerships with venues, schools, local art non-profits, and newly established mentorship initiative for young curators from underrepresented communities, Curatorial Exhibitions addresses the diversity gap in the art field and provides a much needed service of enriching the art scene in the Greater Los Angeles area.

Curatorial Exhibitions was created in response to the need to find more effective and cost efficient ways of delivering art to wider audiences.
Formed in 1987 as part of Curatorial Assistance, Inc., Curatorial Assistance Traveling Exhibitions became a separate nonprofit organization in 2000. Over the years Curatorial Exhibitions has toured more than 343 exhibitions to over 550 art venues worldwide.
Currently Curatorial Exhibitions circulates approximately 40 exhibitions covering a range of contemporary and traditional visual arts and cultural subjects. Most venue placements are within the United States and Canada, though nearly twenty-five percent of our exhibits tour to Europe, Asia/Pacific, and Central and South America.
